Free training for our members
Women’s Aid has been granted funding from the Home Office for work that supports Children and Young People with lived experience of Domestic Abuse. The funding is over three years and enables Training and Education to offer further bursaries for facilitation training. This will primarily be for the Power of Change, You and Me Mum and Helping Hands. Member organisations are able to apply and must commit to being trained on all three programmes and be able to send two people per training session. For more information, please email training@womensaid.org.uk
Training for barristers on coercive control and trauma-informed working
Would your chambers benefit from training on coercive & controlling behaviour and working in a trauma-informed, survivor-centred way? We can tailor training sessions to your needs. “The feedback from the training has been overwhelming. The trainer had a natural ability to engage with an audience and bring to life the message she is seeking to get across. Humanising her talk which you do not see very often. The content of the course was super informative and relevant to all attendees. One attendee commented that they could listen to the trainer for hours – with another asking if she could come back again. I would recommend that this session is part of your outreach programme – the more professionals who engage with this subject (working with victims / survivors / deal with litigation involving these issues) need to be educated – plain and simple.” – CEO and Senior Consultant Barrister, Unit Chambers Liverpool
Training for tradespeople
Did you know that as a tradesperson going into people’s homes, you can help identify and support someone who is experiencing domestic abuse? Women’s Aid has delivered specific training to tradespeople to enable them to spot the signs and safely engage in conversation with survivors of domestic abuse. If your business is interested in following the many that have already taken up this opportunity to receive accredited training for your tradespeople, then please do contact training@womensaid.org.uk
Training for law firms
