Find a Feminist Freelancer

Find a Feminist Freelancer is a directory service provided by Women’s Aid, for members of our federation – over 175 domestic abuse charities and organisations.

It aims to make it easier for our members to find the right women for the job, when they require specialist consultants who understand the needs of the domestic abuse and VAWG sectors. 

It also aims to provide feminist freelance consultants with a platform where they can easily be reached by organisations which are interested in their skills.

Application process

New applications to the Find a Feminist Freelancer directory are currently paused. Please do keep an eye on this page for when applications re-open.

Costs

Find a Feminist Freelancer takes no commission for work that is provided to our members. Consultants that list their services on the directory pay a small fee for us to create a bespoke listing and to market their services directly to members across our federation.  

Annual listings will be charged at £100.  

Once your details have been verified, and your listing approved consultants will receive an invoice.

Whether its IT and digital, bid writing or training, Find a Feminist is a place for those that align with feminist values and have specific skills that can promote their expertise skills across our federation.

You will need to provide evidence and examples that you have experience of supporting charities and women-led organisations, and have experience in the areas you list as your skills.

Women’s Aid is driven by our feminist principles and values, which are shared by the members across our federation. We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs. 

Women’s Aid was founded on women’s struggle against patriarchy, sexism and male violence and grew out of the Women’s movement in the 70’s and 80’s. Today we take an intersectional approach to our work to end domestic abuse and stand with other feminist organisations leading the way in eradicating Violence Against Women and Girls. 

Find a Feminist is a resource which is provided to members. They do not have to pay any fees to use it. The cost of using a consultant listed is in agreement between the member and the consultant.  

Our members are able to search by skill set and by location.

Each listing shows the areas of work the consultant provides, and the locations they can work from. It will contain information provided from the consultant’s application form. Members contact the consultant via the contact form within the listing.

The consultant’s data will be stored securely. This includes the first message sent to them by any member who has completed the ‘Contact’ form, which send the enquiry to the consultant.  

The website includes the ability to give reviews, but this is not a compulsory step of the contact process.
