On average one woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner, yet in 2022-2023  Women’s Aid’s Annual Audit revealed 61% of referrals to refuge were rejected and 49% of domestic abuse organisations were running an area of service without dedicated funding.

Since 2014 we’ve been campaigning to change this, securing over £70 million in emergency funding for refuges between 2014-2021 and a legal duty on local authorities to fund support in safe accommodation.

Sadly, the funding and commissioning challenges facing lifesaving services continue to erode our network of refuges. Find out below how you can help us to #EndAbuseTogether.
