All-Party Parliamentary Group on Domestic Violence and Abuse
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Domestic Violence and Abuse was set up as a forum to work with parliamentarians on the issue of domestic abuse and to facilitate engagement between organisations, academics, commissioners and leaders in the violence against women (VAWG) space and key decision makers. It also provides an important platform for survivors of domestic abuse to discuss their experiences with parliamentarians to inform policy changes to better support survivors of domestic abuse.
The APPG is a unique opportunity to hold ministers to account on securing change and improvements for survivors of domestic abuse.
In the 2023-24 parliamentary session, the APPG will look at
examining a number of key issues and policy areas where change is needed to
support survivors of domestic abuse.
The Group’s Chair and Vice Chair are keen to continue to
build on the momentum behind the Group and will look at holding this programme
of meetings in a hybrid fashion to accommodate those who may find in person
meetings in the House of Commons inaccessible, while ensuring MPs and Peers are
still able to benefit from meeting and discussing important issues as a group.
