I commission work with survivors

Local public sector commissioners for domestic abuse service are facing perhaps the most difficult decisions of recent times, as they themselves face severe cutbacks. Women’s Aid have worked on some tools that may help, which you can access below.

Commissioning resources

Good commissioning is key to delivering high quality domestic abuse services. Women’s Aid are recognised experts in understanding the services survivors need to enable them to escape, recover and rebuild their lives.

A full list of resources can be found here.

Shared Core Standards

The VAWG Sector Sustainability Working Group, comprising Imkaan, Rape Crisis England & Wales, Respect, SafeLives and Women’s Aid, have a set of Shared Core Standards. The purpose of these standards is to enable joint commissioning across specialist services in the VAWG sector, both nationally and locally.

VAWG Commissioner’s Toolkit

The Home Office have published a Commissioner’s Toolkit with contributions from Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis England & Wales, SafeLives, Respect, EVAW and Galop, supported by Lloyds Bank Foundation for England & Wales. You can find the toolkit here.
