Women’s Aid is very disappointed at the news that we will not receive further helpline funding from government from the 31st October 2019. We are extremely proud of our expert helpline team who work tirelessly to run a high quality life-saving service, and we want to thank them for their ongoing commitment to supporting survivors.

Women’s Aid established the first National Domestic Violence Helpline in 1987 and in 2003 went into a partnership to form the Freephone National Domestic Violence Helpline. We will continue to deliver direct services to women experiencing domestic abuse through the Survivors’ Forum and online services, as well as our No Woman Turned Away project, and will be exploring how we can continue to provide the very best quality support to survivors whose voices will always be at the heart of our work.

The National Domestic Violence Helpline will continue from November 2019 without the Women’s Aid helpline team.
