Tuesday, 17th Nov 15

Polly Neate, Chief Executive of Women’s Aid, said:

“We are very saddened to hear of the terrible tragedy at a refuge in Bradford today. It is a deeply unusual and isolated incident. We cannot make any further comment, pending police investigation. We do not know the circumstances.

“We have no direct managerial relationship with Bradford Women’s Aid, and have no responsibility over its service delivery. We are a federation of over 220 independently run and managed organisations.”

“We urge all news outlets to be responsible and remove photos or videos of the refuge, and details of its whereabouts, with immediate effect.”
