The Award in Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse is a nationally recognised qualification and can be your first step on your career path in the domestic and sexual violence sector. We are excited to now be offering this training remotely so you can still gain this qualification from the comfort of your own home!

What does the course cover?

The qualification consists of three units:

• The nature and impact of domestic abuse
• The nature and impact of domestic abuse on children and young people
• Professional responses to domestic abuse

You will gain knowledge and understanding of domestic and sexual abuse which will enable you to provide a more effective and safe response within your work.

Who is this training suitable for?

The Award has been developed for those with little or no experience of working with survivors; volunteers; or those wanting to enter the sector.

The Award is also open to those who work with survivors but don’t work within the domestic and sexual violence sector, for example if you work within a Housing Department, Social Services or the Civil Service.

This training is now being run remotely via zoom so you will need access to a computer and this programme.

Training days are 9.30- 4 pm with breaks throughout the training days.

You must commit to all of the dates listed.

After each unit learners must complete and submit an assignment sheet which once assessed and passed provides you with a Level 3 NOCN Award in Tackling & Preventing Domestic Abuse
