Women’s Aid celebrates ‘Real Man’ campaign at ACT fundraising dinner
On Thursday 16th September 2010 Women’s Aid presented the ‘Real Man’ ACT fundraising dinner at The Dorchester hotel, London, with a host of VIP and celebrity supporters. The fourth annual fundraising dinner celebrated the success of the ‘Real Man’ campaign which launched in June this year, sending out the message that ‘real men’ do not abuse women. With entertainment provided by charity Ambassador Will Young and 4 Poofs and a Piano, the evening proved to be a fantastic night, raising vital funds for the charity’s work for abused women and children.
Women’s Aid Chief Executive, Nicola Harwin CBE, said:
“We are thrilled to be able to host our fourth annual ACT dinner, which this year celebrates our ‘Real Man’ campaign which aims to engage men in our work to end violence against women and children. We desperately need funds in this difficult economic climate to be able to continue to run our vital services for those living with domestic violence, and are so grateful to everyone involved in the ACT dinner event for donating their time and money so that Women’s Aid will be able to provide lifesaving services into 2011.”
