This guide published by Her Majesty's Court Service sets out the civil remedies and criminal sanctions available through the courts to victims of domestic violence, and includes the provisions of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 in operation now. Children’s welcome pack
Published 2003, updated 2007. This pack is aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 10 staying in refuges. Designed in bright colours with pictures and plenty of space to write and draw, the main idea behind the pack is to have fun. The pack includes messages for children about living in a refuge and the experience of having lived with domestic abuse. The pack deals with understanding what a refuge is, refuge rules, support, self-esteem building, keeping safe and hope for the future.
