How you can ACT
There are many ways you can make a difference by helping us to end domestic violence, and also support women and children in need of help. The smallest changes can make the biggest difference.
Here are some ways you can ACT:
Write to the Leader of your Council or local MP to ask:
- how the needs of domestic abuse survivors are being addressed in local strategic planning and commissioning of specialist support services, and
- how domestic abuse is currently being addressed in local primary and secondary schools. Find out how to contact your local MP.
If you are a parent, contacting your local schools to ask how they are addressing domestic abuse and to promote the Women’s Aid Expect Respect Educational Toolkit
Text ACT to 84424 to make a £3 donation to our 16 days of action appeal - This year, we are looking to raise at least £6,000 for our work to protect women and children from domestic violence: that's £1 for each woman supported by our network of local member organisations over the course of the 16 days.
Explode the myths about domestic violence
Did you know that one in four British women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime? We believe that it's important to bring domestic violence into conversation so that it's no longer a taboo subject. You can act by talking to others about the facts and revealing the truth behind the myths.
