Women's Aid and mentoring website horsesmouth are teaming up to help women affected by domestic violence. horsesmouth is an innovative online mentoring site where users can give and receive confidential advice, communicating with people all around the UK. As the horsesmouth website says, "If you've lived and learned, there are probably people here who could benefit from your wisdom."

For safety reasons, as with any online communication, please do not release personal information that may identify you when using horsesmouth.co.uk. Women's Aid recognises that survivors of domestic violence will have additional safety concerns and recommends that all users are very careful with the information they provide. If horsesmouth mentors are concerned at the content of messages they are receiving, there is the facility to block messages from individuals.
If mentors find at any time that the person they are mentoring need further support and information about domestic violence, Women's Aid recommends referring onto either The Survivor's Handbook, the Freephone 24 hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, (run in partnership between Women's Aid and Refuge on 0808 2000 247) or to any of the specialist organisations listed on our Useful Links section of the website.
